What is Matches and why does it exist?
Matches has been set up by EEC to organise fun events for Christian singles to meet and connect.
Many of us will know that it is hard enough to find someone who is a Christian let alone someone who is also:
a) attractive to us
b) interesting to talk to
c) accepting of our quirks!
We often find that we are limited to making friends within our work or cell group circles. Matches gives people the opportunity to broaden their social network and to get to know plenty of Christians of the opposite sex.
Who comes to Matches?
If you are worried about what kind of people attend Matches, we can assure you that you'll find ordinary men and women who don't take themselves too seriously! Over a hundred people have signed up to Matches so far, and they are from several different London churches, not just EEC. Matches events are also great for making new friends. You are bound to meet at least one person who shares your interests.What happens at Matches events?
There is no "typical" Matches event! Past events have included Samba-dancing, Greek Night and a walk in little Venice followed by drinks at our flat! The only difference between Matches and any other social event, is that everyone happens to be Christian and single! There is no pressure and people are free to get to know each other in their own time.
How do people keep in touch?
You may be wondering how people keep in touch after the event. The easiest way is of course to exchange contact details with someone else during the course of the event. But we also understand that some are to shy to do this, and therefore distribute Keeping in Touch forms at the end of the event. These forms allow you to give us your feedback and also to request for your contact details to be passed to someone else if and only if you wish! All information on these forms remains strictly confidential.
