Peter Loo, Senior Pastor
Peter Loo has been resident in the UK since the late 70s, when he left his native Malaysia to pursue an Electrical Engineering Degree in the University of London. While at college, he met with Christ and since then, has played an active role serving in college and church.
After graduating, he married Saw Lan, a teacher by training. They have two daughters, Sie Yan who is married to Andy Haslam (the founding pastor of Grace London Church) and Munn Yan, a social worker.
Peter’s professional background is in telecommunications, namely, software design for telecommunications systems and mobile phone software. Until 2006 he worked as a telecoms contractor and he was the Departmental head of a leading international mobile communications company before he transitioned to the role of Senior Pastor at Emmanuel Church.
Peter was officially installed as Senior Pastor on 30th November 2008, after he and Saw Lan had completed a biblical training course at the Singapore Theological College of Asia, under the counsel of the Senior Pastor of Trinity Christian Centre, Singapore.
Peter is also one of the founding elders of EEC. His hobbies include photography, trekking and reading. His passion is to see Christ being known and honoured in the UK and raise up sons and daughters of the church to fulfil their God appointed destinies.
BRUCE ATKINSON, ASSOCIATE Pastor
Bruce Atkinson gained his theology degree from Durham University and served as Associate Minister at Kensington Temple before joining EEC. He is the author of four books: Land of Hope and Glory a History of British revivals; No More Law - a study in Galatians; Shut Up and Show Me! - a study in James; and The Isaac Factor - Getting ready for more of the Holy Spirit.
Bruce is married to Nicola and has two children Jake and Charlotte.
Doreen Teh, Pastor
Doreen Teh came to the UK in 1979 training to be a nurse and specialising in ophthalmic nursing. She also has a degree in sociology.
Doreen began serving at Emmanuel Evangelical Church as a cell leader before becoming a zone leader and a district leader. In 2008 she was invited by Pastor Peter Loo to join the staff team, focusing her energies at the new church plant, Emmanuel Edgware. On 23 Feb 2014 Doreen was commissioned as a Pastor of Emmanuel Church.
Doreen met her husband Tony at a prayer meeting with a Malaysian Christian Fellowship in London and they got married in 1986. They have two daughters, Grace and Nicola.
In her spare time Doreen enjoys gardening and travelling, exploring nature and building architecture.
